Google Maps is adding personalised match score for places and more

Google Maps is adding personalised match score for places and more”

While I couldn't get Lin to tell me about the percentage of users who now use the existing Google Maps exploration tools, this new initiative is also part of an attempt to get users to move beyond directions when they think about Maps.

It is also being reported that Google Maps will also use the machine learning and data to automatically match the user with new places and venues around the town.

For more effective navigation, Google is combining Google Maps' navigation features with Camera capabilities.

In addition to the new features, Google is also working to improve the overall user experience of Google Maps. By long pressing on your favorite places, it can be added to a shareable list that friends and family can add to for an ultimate vote later on.

Additionally, the experience could overlay places such as restaurants and businesses on top of the real-world images in the camera's field of view, making it easier to find new places that might otherwise go unnoticed in real life.

It's these match scores that are the most interesting, since it's basically Google's own algorithms telling you how it thinks you'll like a particular place. Google said the dedicated "For You" tab will present information about new restaurants opening nearby, trending spots and many more based on the places the users have rated and visited, MacRumors has learned.

Matches will evolve with you, so your changing tastes will be up-to-date on Google Maps. All these features are for app, not the web.

Google Maps relieve the workload of its users in selecting a restaurant, according to the new update to Google Maps. All the features are set to roll out globally on Android and iOS in the coming months. It doesn't matter if a Chinese restaurant has a 4.9-star rating if you only like pizza, and that's the problem that Google is trying to solve with a new "For You" tab.
