Pep Guardiola: 'Manchester United can still catch Manchester City'”

Pep Guardiola has refused to rule Manchester United out of the Premier League title race, despite Manchester City requiring just five points from their final six matches.

Guardiola is concerned about the psychological effect that three defeats in a week might have on his players as they look to secure the trophy.

When City won their first Premier League title in 2012, they pulled back an eight-point deficit with only six games left, and Guardiola said: "Of course it can happen, I assure you". "We can not forget he was one month injured".

United inflicted just the second League defeat of the season on City by winning the Manchester derby last week with that sensational 3-2 win at the Etihad, and in the process stopped City being confirmed as Champions. Football is full of emotions, but what we have to try to do is focus and win our games against Tottenham, Swansea and after that the other ones.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted he does not know how long he will be without star striker Sergio Aguero. We can not forget he had a month injured. He made a huge effort because after the action from Ashley Young against United he had a problem with his knee. "We have problems - John Stones is not ready [thigh], Fernandinho is suspended, Benjamin Mendy is out [knee]".

'You judge results, ' he added. So we have to play tomorrow and after that we see the result from United.

"I am not the most calm, because that is not the right word, but it's the fact that since November or December [people say] we are already champions - when I saw the pundits and the people in November, they say it's already done".

"He's not ready. I don't know". "They do great pressing and have a lot of talented players, like [Mousa] Dembele, [Jan] Vertonghen, Dele Alli, [Christian] Eriksen, Son [Heung-min] and [Harry] Kane is their top scorer".

Next week, a repeat of this fixture takes place at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup semi-finals. Now we have in front of us the most important title in the season by far. "Hopefully (he will be back) for the last games, if we need him, and especially for the World Cup". We're 13 points ahead plus (a better) goal difference and we deserve to be there. Real Madrid, years ago, lost [five] games in a row and didn't win the league. They are able to win their games - all six. A team that included players such as Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo, David Beckham, Iker Casillas and Raul lost six of their last seven games to finish seven points behind Valencia having led by 11 points at one stage.
