Floyd Mayweather Says He Would Come Out Of Retirement For UFC Debut

Floyd Mayweather Says He Would Come Out Of Retirement For UFC Debut”

"Yes, but if I do come back, it has to be in the Octagon".

"I spoke with Showtime, (and) I spoke with CBS", Mayweather told ringside reporter Jim Gray during the Lara vs. Hurd fight. I spoke with SHOWTIME, I spoke with CBS. I spoke with [Showtime parent company] CBS. "Yes, but if I do come back, it has to be in the octagon".

Floyd Mayweather has played down a rematch against Conor McGregor, but says if he does return to the ring then "it has to be in the Octagon".

The last time McGregor was seen in action in any capacity was his August super-fight with Mayweather and while the pair showed their respect to each other when their ten round bout was finished, tensions have been flaring between both men once more.

McGregor was freed by a NY judge on $US50,000 ($A65,000) bail on Friday after being charged with assault for his role in a violent attack at a media event to promote UFC 223.

"I feel that when you have reached such high status you have to carry yourself in a classy way. The world loved what we did, but outside the ring, you've got to carry yourself like a gentleman". But things are starting to take the same sheen of reality we saw when the McGregor vs. Mayweather boxing match went from speculation to signed and sealed. McGregor was involved in an altercation where he threw a hand truck through a bus window carrying UFC fighters and personnel.

The brash Irish fighter was silenced when Mayweather picked him apart in an eventual 10th-round stoppage.

If Mayweather goes into an MMA fight, he said it would be at 145 pounds. "We could do a multi-fight deal".

"The money is going to be insane".

"I can do whatever I want to".

"That ain't happening", said White after addressing Mayweather's comments.
