Conor McGregor Responds to UFC Stripping Him of Lightweight Title”

As the media day finished up, McGregor crashed the conference with his entourage going insane, attacking a bus, leaving UFC lightweight fighter Michael Chiesa reportedly injured during the onslaught.

Many have suggested McGregor was seeking lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov, who fights featherweight champion Max Holloway for McGregor's lightweight title in Saturday's headline scrap. "One of these two guys will be the champion". Conor is losing the the belt.

This news was not taken well by McGregor, the previous permanent holder of that title. Apparently McGregor damaged the bus in some way, because UFC lightweight Michael Chiesa was cut by some glass and injured.

McGregor and his entourage approached a large vehicle full of fighters that was leaving Barclays Center in Brooklyn after the press event, according to MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani.

UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson has also been stripped of his belt as Saturday's matchup between Holloway and Nurmagomedov will provide the organization with an official champion.

"Conor McGregor is coming back this year 100 percent", he said.

McGregor responded on Monday, saying: "These fools pull out more times than I do with my d-k".

A win on Saturday night would nearly guarantee that the Hawaiian gets a big-money fight against McGregor if and when the Irishman returns to cage-fighting. I don't think anybody is going to want to right now. He made the biggest payday of his career in a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather in August and has not fought since.

Speaking to SportsCentre, White said: "I did see [the video]".

Speaking at yesterday's press conference, White finally confirmed the Irishman will lose his title.

Herrig meets Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 223, with the victor moving a step closer to a shot at the 115lbs title, which will be decided by a rematch between Rose Namajunas and Joanna Jędrzejczyk on the same night.

The 29-year-old star did not appear to take the news well.
