Brown Wants More Commitment From Trump On Infrastructureā€¯

Trump says he may hold up the agreement "because it's a very strong card and I want to make sure everyone is treated fairly".

During the approximately 50-minute speech, Trump said his proposal, which includes provisions to streamline the process for obtaining federal building permits, would "transform our roads and bridges from a source of endless frustration into a source of absolutely incredible pride".

In Ohio, Trump was also expected to discuss findings in a new report from the White House Council of Economic Advisers that the infrastructure proposal would contribute modestly to economic growth over the 10-year period and help put hundreds of thousands of unemployed laborers back to work.

President Trump was in Ohio Thursday to pitch Americans on his $1.5 trillion infrastructure plan.

Trump asked Congress last month to consider using a $200 billion federal investment to leverage more than $1 trillion in state, local and private funding that would pay for the improvements to the nation's infrastructure.

"Nearly 40 percent of our bridges were built before the first moon landing".

His infrastructure plan was announced officially in February.

Trump's plan includes using $200 billion in federal money to leverage $1 trillion in state, local and private funds to fix U.S. roads, bridges, highways, airports and water plants.

"The thing that we found is that there is an enormous amount of opportunity in the workforce area on infrastructure", another administration official said Wednesday.

President Trump was joined by White House Senior Advisor Ivanka Trump on the trip, along with Transportation Secretary Elaine Choa.

She worked for the Trump organization before serving as the Trump campaign's one-woman press shop and has been working at the White House since Trump's inauguration. The plan has received only tepid support from Congress since the administration unveiled it earlier this year. Trump, through his representatives, has denied the 2006 affair.
