Kurds to Act as Human Shields Against Turkish Assault on Afrin”

Senior members of YPG/PKK terror organization are fleeing Syria's Afrin, where Turkey's Operation Olive Branch is ongoing, local sources said Saturday.

"Hey NATO where are you?"

Washington has repeatedly called upon Turkey to stop its "aggression" against the Afrin region, omitting the fact that the US-led coalition itself spent years in Syria without any invitation from the government or global approval, RT reported. A report in Aljazeera says that residents of Afrin plan on creating a human chain to protect YPG fighters against Turkey's assault on the city.

Turkey expressed its concern about the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) escalating violence in Germany late on Monday, and urged Berlin to take measures to ensure the safety of Turks.

However, it remains to be seen if the US allows Turkey to continue with its offensive or intervenes to protect the force that is vital to maintaining control of huge swathes of ungoverned Syria. Ankara is wary of the presence of Kurdish militants close to its borders in Syria, and has been opposed to Washington's efforts to train and arm them in the Arab country.

Pro-Kurdish demonstrators staged protests against Turkey's military offensive in northern Syria on Sunday scuffling with Turks and German police at Dusseldorf airport, while in Britain they temporarily closed two train stations, authorities said.

Later, the base became an important military zone for the YPG/PKK terrorists.

"In the Afrin region, the owners of the lands have started to come back", said Erdogan.

He added that Turkey would continue to closely monitor developments in Germany. The country considers the YPG a terror organization but its North Atlantic Treaty Organisation ally, the United States, backs the fighters to combat Daesh group.

Earlier this week, the Pentagon announced an "operational pause" in the fight against remnants of IS in eastern Syria, admitting that Turkey's activities in Afrin affected the coalition's capabilities.
