Meghan Markle Had Her First Kate Middleton Twinning Moment”

Their first stop was to Edinburgh castle, where the couple was met by hordes of fans.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their first official joint visit to Scotland today, travelling around Edinburgh for a series of engagements created to introduce Meghan to the United Kingdom ahead of her May wedding day. Prince Harry and Meghan spoke to the co-owners of the café and toured its facilities, and Meghan noted that it seemed like a fun place to work when chatting with some of the kitchen workers.

Harry and Meghan started off their visit at the iconic castle, where they were given a ceremonious welcome by the Royal Marines Scotland Band.

Visit: Crowds gathered at Edinburgh Castle.

Harry and his bride-to-be started the visit with a walkabout, meeting well-wishers before heading inside the historic fortress to watch as the One O'clock Gun is fired, a tradition started in 1861 to mark time for ships in the Firth of Forth. She is convinced that the "Horrible Bosses" actress would make a great team with Prince Harry.

Meghan Markle is breaking a number of traditional fashion rules within the royal family.

They were also visiting Social Bite, a charity that runs cafes and distributes food to the homeless, as well as employing staff who have been homeless.

Kim Cameron, 55, from Danderhall, Midlothian, added: "I just want to see them because I love the Royal Family".

They then moved to Social Bite, a network of cafes set up to help the homeless which has previously welcomed George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio and the Duchess of Cornwall. During their first official visit to Scotland, the couple encountered a little horse with a very big name: Corporal Cruachan IV.

The Year of Young People is an initiative aiming to inspire Scotland through its youngsters by celebrating their achievements and strengthening their voice on social issues.
