Moaning Mahrez may never leave Leicester if he keeps sulking

Moaning Mahrez may never leave Leicester if he keeps sulking”

Mahrez has not trained or played for the Foxes since - and, according to reports on Wednesday, that will continue into this weekend's match (against Man City, coincidentally) at the very least.

RIYAD MAHREZ will miss his third game in a row when Leicester go to Manchester City on Saturday.

Puel is likely to be asked about the subject in his pre-Man City press conference later this week, but is nearly certain to instead focus on the players available to him for the trip to the Eithad.

Leicester dismissed Mahrez's request, though, and stood firm in the face of City's interest.

Riyad Mahrez is seeking a guarantee that he will be allowed to leave Leicester City this summer in an attempt to end his stand-off with the club. Another solution could be to agree a release clause.

It had been previously revealed that the young english winger Patrick Roberts, now on loan at Celtic, was included in as part of City's £65m bid for Mahrez.

Diabete moved to Leicester in the January transfer window from French Ligue 2 side Gazelec Ajaccio on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

What's now clear is that Mahrez didn't insist on having an exit clause in that deal. That's unclear, and many football fans may be urging the Foxes owners to reject Mahrez's position, as the alternative would be to show that player power still trumps contracts in football.

Leicester City forward Fousseni Diabate has the right attributes to handle the rigours of the Premier League and has made a good early impression, manager Claude Puel said.

Second, the update reveals how Mahrez is still focused on trying to play for Pep Guardiola.
