FBI Text Messages Indicate Obama's Interest in Investigation

FBI Text Messages Indicate Obama's Interest in Investigation”

An interim report released Wednesday morning by Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) via the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee contains the Strzok-Page SMS (text) messages quoted above.

Almost two months before former FBI Director James Comey announced the bureau was reopening its investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email use as secretary of state, two FBI officials discussed drafting talking points for President Barack Obama because he "wants to know everything we're doing".

Strzok was distressed, for instance, that former President Bill Clinton had an impromptu meeting with Attorney General Loretta Lynch aboard her plane in the investigation's final stages.

While the Senate staff report said it assumes that such a briefing might have been about the investigation into Democrat Clinton's use of a private email server when she was secretary of state, that's not clear from the text.

Strzok and Page were never just your average, run-of-the-mill, back bench FBI types, both were handpicked by Robert Mueller to assist in his nothing-there Russia-Trump investigation along with a team of other Clinton and Obama cronies.

In the fall, Republicans on House Oversight and Judiciary Committees launched their own investigation into the FBI and Justice Department's handling of the Clinton email probe.

Yet again, President Trump and his supporters have found a Peter Strzok text message of which they're quite fond. The piece would end up not being published, but the Obama administration did publicly finger Russian Federation as being behind the election hacking in a joint statement from the Department of Homeland Security and the director of National Intelligence.

The Sept. 2, 2016, text message from Page to Strzok that mentions Obama wanting "to know everything" is one of more than 50,000 texts the two Federal Bureau of Investigation officials exchanged during a two-year extramarital affair, the Daily Mail reported.

After the mention of "potus", Strzok alerted Page to "NYTimes.com breaking", which could have been the report, "FBI Papers Offer Closer Look at Hillary Clinton Email Inquiry." . Johnson says that is referring to the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails.

The Washington Times picked up the story, running with the headline: "Newly released texts raise questions about Obama's role in Clinton probe". "Figure I need to brush up on Watergate".

The Associated Press has also reviewed the thousands of text messages. "I can protect our country at many levels, not sure if that helps", Strzok replied to Page.

Comey announced in July 2016 that he had cleared Clinton of criminal wrongdoing in the email probe, saying that 'we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues meant to violate laws governing the handling of classified information'.
