Do not miss the Super Blue Blood Moon this Wednesday

Do not miss the Super Blue Blood Moon this Wednesday”

The first full moon occurred on January 1, and was the biggest Americans will see this year. The first full moon this month was January 1. It will continue moving out of the penumbra until the eclipse ends at 8:08 a.m.

So what is a supermoon? .

Since the Moon's orbit is elliptical, one side (the apogee) is about 30,000 miles (50,000 km) farther from Earth than the other (the perigee). "The radius changes around the circle".

It wasn't until 1979 that Richard Nolle first defined the supermoon, which is now a widely-used term.

The Moon on Wednesday will be a blue moon because it will the second full moon this month. This event is known as a Blue Moon, according to Fox 5 DC.

A blue moon normally occurs once every 30 months.

But those expecting to see a lunar eclipse will be disappointed as Dr Brown says it will "definitely not be visible from the United Kingdom, not even a partial eclipse".

"The blood moon is a scary name that everyone picks up on", Faherty said. The next total lunar eclipse visible across North America will occur January 21, 2019. As the moon is returning from beneath the earth's shadow, the moon will have already gone below the horizon. This alignment is known as "syzygy".

What's this 'super blue blood moon'?

On January 31st the Earth, the Sun and the Moon will align, giving rise to a total lunar eclipse.

"If it were much later, you wouldn't see anything, because the sun would be up", MacCarone said. Of all full moons, a super moon happens 25 percent of the time. According to NASA, the lunar trifecta is the first of its kind in 35 years and will not occur again until 2037.

"I saw the solar eclipse", Deidre Esparza, a student, said. "It'll be a fun occasion and it will get people to look at the moon".

When it passes through the Earth's shadow, or is eclipsed, the supermoon will take on a reddish tint, hence the nickname "blood moon".

If skies are clear, the U.S. West Coast, Alaska and Hawaii will have the best view of totality, from start to finish.

Viewing the super blue blood moon is going to be tricky.

"It's very bright and it causes some brilliant optical settings", Faherty said. So if you find yourself tossing and turning in bed tomorrow night, you can blame it on that. "You would be seeing the glow of all the sunrises and sunsets on Earth, all at the same time".
