Dr. Ronny Jackson's glowing bill of health for Trump

Dr. Ronny Jackson's glowing bill of health for Trump”

Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and some Republicans.

Lindsey Graham of SC said Trump had drastically changed his tune on a compromise immigration bill just before the Thursday meeting.

The military doctor said it was evidence that Trump does not suffer from mental issues that could prevent him from performing his duties as president. She says "others in the room were also using tough language".

There is internal debate in the West Wing over whether Trump said "s-thole" or "s-thouse".

Trump scored a flawless 30 out of 30 on the test given to him and Dr. Jackson explains that if any cognitive impairments were affecting President Trump that a ideal score on the test given to him would not have been possible. A Democratic bill in Congress cosponsored by Toledo Democrat Marcy Kaptur would establish an "Oversight Commission on Presidential Capacity" to determine whether the president is mentally or physically unable to discharge the powers and duties of office. The White House has not denied that Trump used a vulgar term, and indicated Tuesday that no apology would be forthcoming. In another, he appears to be an inch or two shorter than Justin Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister (six feet two). Topol said. "I don't care what his height is".

"Senator Dicky Durbin totally misrepresented what was said at the DACA meeting". "Deals can't get made when there is no trust! We can not do this with people in charge at the White House who have an irrational view of how to fix immigration". Trump announced previous year that he will end the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, unless lawmakers come up with a solution by March.

Sen. Dick Durbin of IL, the only Democrat at Thursday's meeting, said Trump had indeed said what he was reported to have said. If you do well on it, I think anything above 26 is normal. Durbin this week said "any attempt to kill immigration reform probably has (White House senior adviser Stephen) Miller's fingerprints on it".

Nielsen says the department is going after the threat of white supremacy. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who also was at the meeting, issued a statement last week that did not dispute news accounts that Trump used the vulgarity to describe African countries.

Trump also objected to the idea of using other visa slots from the lottery to provide green cards to people who are losing Temporary Protected Status after decades in the USA (who now have no way to stay permanently) - or at least he objected to allowing Haitian TPS recipients to get green cards under the deal, reportedly saying "take them out".

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., one of the lawmakers summoned to the Oval Office by the president to counter the Durbin-Graham proposal, blasted Durbin's account of the meeting in an interview. Trump wasn't apologetic and denied he was racist, said the confidant, who wasn't authorized to disclose a private conversation and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Trump insisted in a tweet on Friday that he "never said anything derogatory about Haitians other than Haiti is, obviously, a very poor and troubled country". Forty percent said he is not racist, while 16 percent said they were unsure.

And that's in keeping with Trump's broader view of working out - which I affectionately like to call the "battery theory".

The contentious comments came as Durbin was presenting details of a compromise immigration plan that had money for a first installment of the president's long-sought border wall.

Trump took particular issue with the idea that people who'd fled to the US after disasters hit their homes in places such as El Salvador, Guatemala and Haiti would be allowed to stay as part of the deal, according to the people briefed on the conversation.

The president's detractors, however, are already having much fun with Dr. Jackson's assertion of Trump's mental wellness and many have suggested that he was the beneficiary of overly simplistic tests.

With his reported eating habits and lack of exercise, it made sense for the White House to "release all of this data to show that ... he is in good health", Mishori said.

Trump and some Republicans have said the senators' agreement is insufficient. Generations ago, numerous European nations that past immigrants once called home were derided with similar sentiments to the ones Trump expressed. "Why did Chuck Schumer and all of his colleagues come and beg Donald Trump for money?"

Instead, he wanted more immigration from countries like Norway (and, according to some reports, Asia).
