Roy Halladay's autopsy reveals traces of alcohol and morphine”

His blood-alcohol content level was 0.01, according to the toxicology results in the report released by the Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner's Office.

An autopsy report said retired star pitcher Roy Halladay had evidence of amphetamine, morphine and an insomnia drug in his system when he died in a small plane crash in Florida a year ago.

The 40-year-old Halladay died on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, when his plane crashed off the coast of Tampa, Fla.

Halladay was piloting his own private plane when it plunged into the Mexican Gulf previous year.

Previous reports said the plane had flown erratically leading up to the crash, dipping within a few feet of the water before climbing steeply and turning sharply.

An autopsy report is revealing more details about the cause of Roy Halladay's death.

Whether Halladay had prescriptions for these drugs is something we don't know.

An autopsy on the major leaguer who died in a plane crash last November has revealed Roy Halladay died with a mix of morphine and sleeping pills in his system. Morphine is commonly associated with heroin, but TMZ reports there's no indication Halladay was "using heroin or any other clandestine drug".

The pitcher played for 16 seasons - the first 12 with the Toronto Blue Jays - before retiring in 2013 with the Philadelphia Phillies.

A preliminary report released two weeks after the crash by the National Transportation Safety Board said Halladay was flying his ICON A5 plane at 105 miles per hour while skimming the Gulf of Mexico at just 11 feet before climbing 100 feet in the air. He went on to pitch a no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds in the 2010 divisional series.
