Israel approves more than 1100 new West Bank settlement homes, says NGO”

The Palestinians on Wednesday strongly criticized Israel's new plan of constructing settlement units in the West Bank and said the policies of the USA administration in the Middle East have provided cover for Israel. Shevah lived in the nearby Gilad Farm outpost. "Look no further to why there is no peace".

The last round of talks between Israelis and Palestinians collapsed in 2014.

The area frequently sees tensions between Israeli settlers and Palestinians. They also called on the BDS movement to meet with Dlodlo, who is described as "an active supporter of the Palestinian people and BDS movement" in order to formulate an appropriate response.

"The Israeli efforts are aimed at annexing the entire West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, and in doing so intensifies the pace of settlement construction in the absence of serious global accountability", said Shaath.

The Palestinian Islamic militant group Hamas praised the shooting as "heroic" but did not claim the attack.

Global law views the West Bank and East Jerusalem as "occupied territories" and considers all Jewish settlement-building activity on the land as illegal.

The attack took place near Havat Gilad, an unauthorized Israeli settlement outpost near Nablus.

"The defence minister will on Wednesday present for approval by the Higher Planning Council an immediate construction plan for 2018 of 1,285 housing units in Judea and Samaria", Israel's defence ministry said in a statement, referring to the West Bank, earlier this week.

Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely replied to the American envoy's statement by tweeting, "Dear Ambassador Friedman, we deeply appreciate your solidarity with Israel".

But for Palestinians, such payments are a key source of income for families who have in many cases lost their main breadwinner.

The Palestinians want these areas - along with the Gaza Strip - for the establishment of a future Palestinian state.
