'Google Pay' is Here to Rebrand Company's Payment Solutions

'Google Pay' is Here to Rebrand Company's Payment Solutions”

"With Google Pay, it'll be easier for you to use the payment information saved to your Google Account, so you can speed through checkout with peace of mind", Google's Pali Bhat explained.

Google has announced it's creating a more unified way of paying for things online and in-store.

While the branding was unveiled at the CES 2018 event, many users had reportedly been getting this update days in advance as they were already seeing the Google Pay logo on their phones while making payments.

Here's where it gets a little confusing. Google Pay already works with sites like Airbnb, Dice, HungryHouse, Fandango, and more sites will likely add support in the coming future. Is there even a new service to support?

A recent survey of more than 1,000 Fandango users revealed that 81% of consumers use some sort of digital payment service.

"Since we announced Send Money in Gmail, paying back your friends has never been so simple, whether you're chipping in for lunch or reimbursing your housemate for your share of the rent".

Google says that the merging of Android Pay and Google Wallet into a single brand is "just the first step" in its new payment overhaul. Reports last week suggested the company was preparing a bid for leading payments provider Softcard as it looks to expand the capabilities of Google Wallet and take on the likes of Apple Pay. For now, however, it doesn't sound as if much is changing - just the name. After years of brainstorming - Google finally has had the genius idea of unifying both these platforms under a single brand.
