Black Lives Matter icon Eric Garner's daughter dies at 27”

Erica Garner, the 27-year-old daughter of Eric Garner who died when a police officer put him in a chokehold over illegally selling cigarettes, died Saturday due to complications from a heart attack.

"The police killed her unarmed, nonviolent father with an illegal chokehold and got off with nary a word", Brittany Packnett, a leader in the Black Lives Matter movement and co-founder of Campaign Zero, said on Twitter. Donovan was the distict attorney when a grand jury declined to indict Police Officer Daniel Pantaleo in connection with her father's death.

"People ask, 'When will you stop marching?"

Garner told CNN's Don Lemon in 2014 she believed her father's death had more to do with police misconduct than race.

She was an outspoken and sometimes controversial activist against police brutality, organizing marches and speaking often to the media about her father's case. The person running her popular Twitter account told Garner's 35,000 followers Wednesday that a CT scan revealed that she had suffered brain damage "from lack of oxygen while in cardiac arrest". She was great. She just sought after right, regardless.

"Even with my own heartbreak, when I demand justice, it's never just for Eric Garner", she wrote in a Washington Post op-ed a year ago endorsing then-Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. "She was a fierce protector of her friends and family".

Her official Twitter account confirmed her death on Saturday and took a shot at New York City Mayor, Bill de Blasio. "We're less because of this loss".

On Twitter, reverend and civil rights activist Jesse Jackson said he sent "prayers and condolences to the family of warrior of justice, #EricaGarner". "This city will miss her unshakable sense of justice and passion for humanity", he said. Then for her own life. This for being Black in America. She didn't deserve this.

Rev. Al Sharpton influenced a comparable point in commending Erica To accumulate as a "warrior to the end" in her battle for equity on Saturday morning at a gathering with the National Action Network.

Garner has been in a coma since December 23, when an asthma attack triggered a second heart attack. "Her heart was assaulted by a framework that would gag her father and not consider responsible those that did it".

Snipes-Garner says her daughter suffered her first heart attack not long after giving birth to a baby boy in August. "Her heart was attacked by a system that would choke her dad and not hold accountable those that did it".
