Michael Flynn Vowed to End Russia Sanctions, According to Whistleblower”

Flynn told a former business associate that one of Trump's first acts would be to make sure Russian sanctions were "ripped up", according to a new report.

The whistleblower alleged that the businessman boasted about the contents of the text from Flynn, calling it "the best day of my life", according to a detailed account of the alleged incident laid out in a letter from Rep. Elijah Cummings, the ranking Democrat on the House Oversight committee, to Chairman Trey Gowdy, a Republican, and shared with ABC News.

But he asked Gowdy to issue a subpoena to the White House for documents related to Flynn, saying that the committee has "credible allegations" that Flynn "sought to manipulate the course of global nuclear policy for the financial gain of his former business partners".

"I do not bring this whistleblower to your attention lightly", Cummings, the Baltimore lawmaker and top Democrat on the committee wrote in the letter. These grave allegations compel a full, credible, and bipartisan congressional investigation, ' Cummings wrote.

Flynn's lawyer did not respond to a request for comment on the latest claims.

"This is going to make a lot of very wealthy people". Copson is the managing director of ACU Strategic Partners, a Washington-based company that Flynn said he advised from April 2015 through June 2016, according to a financial disclosure he filed this August.

He pleaded guilty last week to lying to Federal Bureau of Investigation agents about his contacts with the Moscow diplomat.

Former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn told a former business associate "within minutes" of President Donald Trump being sworn in on Inauguration Day that economic sanctions against Russian Federation would be "ripped up" once Trump gets into office, according to a whistleblower.

Neither Copson nor an attorney for ACU responded to a request for comment.

The whistleblower took note of the time stamp on the text on Copson's phone, which was 12:11 p.m. "Mike has been putting everything in place for us", Copson then reportedly said.

The White House aide was said to have been referring to plans by a consortium of US, Russian and French companies to build and operate 45 nuclear power plants in Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries. The investigators are searching for further evidence that Flynn lobbied from his government job as National Security Advisor for associates who had retained his consulting firm before the election.

Cummings did not name the whistleblower in the letter, but offered to have Gowdy speak with the person directly.

"Although this individual was extremely hesitant to come forward - and still fears retaliation - the whistleblower has chose to do so now because this individual feels duty bound as a citizen to make this disclosure", he wrote.

With the clearance of Mueller's office, Cummings writes that he's now making the whistleblower's story public.

It also raised fresh questions on what Trump knew about Flynn's business plans when he appointed the retired three- star general to serve as his national security advisor.
