Keep calm, however new North Korea missile check a…”

National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster said Saturday that special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation - which led his predecessor, Michael Flynn, to plead guilty to lying to the FBI on Friday - has not affected his agency's mission nor troubled US allies.

North Korea's first missile test since mid-September came a week after U.S. President Donald Trump put North Korea back on a U.S. list of countries it says support terrorism, allowing it to impose more sanctions. "And whether it's a success or a failure isn't as important as understanding that over the years he's been learning from failures, improving and thereby increasing his threat to all of us". The United States has been trying to get other countries, especially China, to squeeze North Korea's economy to make Kim back down from developing his country's nuclear weapons program. The launch constitutes North Korea's 15th missile test in 2017, and third-ever ICBM test.

On Wednesday, North Korea tested a new type of intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) that can fly over 13,000 km (8,080 miles), placing Washington within target range, South Korea said on Friday.

The commentary was published a day after Pyongyang's foreign ministry accused the Trump administration of "begging for nuclear war" by staging what it called the reckless air drills.

Seoul's Korean Times quoted a defence source, who is aware of the latest development, as saying that the brigade's mission will be to eliminate key North Korean authorities if there is a full-fledged conflict in the region.

Tensions are expected to rise further in the coming week as South Korea and the United States launch a massive air force drill mobilising some 230 aircraft including six US F-22 Raptor stealth jet fighters.

While condemning the latest test, the Kremlin's Peskov said: "We hope that all the sides involved are able to preserve calm, which is so necessary to avoid the situation on the Korean peninsula sliding towards a worst-case scenario".

He responded "I don't think so" when asked whether the Mueller probe affected American allies.

He repeated Kim's warning that the North would respond with the "highest level of hard-line countermeasure in history".

The North says the Hwasong-15 missile can be tipped with a "super-large heavy warhead" capable of striking the whole USA mainland.
