HTC U11 starts getting Oreo update in the US

HTC U11 starts getting Oreo update in the US”

Most of the smartphone makers are sending latest Android 8.0 Oreo updates to their devices. The only downside with the smartphone is the bezels on the front, but the company recently launched a tweaked version of the U11, dubbed as HTC U11 Plus. The HTC U11 offers a 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6GB of RAM, Adreno 540 GPU, 12MP rear camera, 16MP front-facing camera, runs Android Oreo, and a 3000mAh battery. Well now, a company executive has said that the Oreo update will be rolling out to unlocked U11 starting today. Owners of unlocked HTC U11 units will be notified about the availability of the update via a push notification which will provide them with the option of instantly triggering the installation or scheduling it to be performed overnight. This will include the Picture-in-Picture mode for better productivity, passwords auto-fill and Smart text selection, which automatically converts addresses and phone number texts into clickable links that will directly open Maps or the phone dialer.

Has your unlocked U11 gotten the update yet? He didn't give specific details as to when U11 users with carrier-locked phones would be able to download Oreo, but he added that HTC is working with Sprint to "get it out as quickly as possible". The Android 8.0 Oreo OS makes the HTC U11 more powerful than ever. While we haven't heard of handsets outside of Korea getting the update just yet, there's no reason to think that it won't spread very soon. The smartphone was shipped with Android 7.1 in the U.S. market, which left users anticipating the update for Android 8.0 Oreo.
