Another Kashmiri soldier kidnapped and killed”

A bullet-ridden body of a 23- year-old man, reportedly working for the Army, was recovered on Wednesday from south Kashmir's Shopian district, the police said.

The body of Irfan Ahmad Dar, a resident of Sezan Keegam, was recovered from an orchard area in Watmullah Keegam area of Shopian.

Sepoy Irfan Ahmad Dar, posted with175 Territorial Army (Engineers) in Bandipora, had left home at Senzen village in his auto on Friday but did not return.

The police has not ruled out the possibility of militants involved in the kidnap and murder.

SSP Shopian, Shriram A Dinkar said that police has started investigation into the case to "identify which militant groups is involved in the murder. The matter is being investigated by the police", he said. Residents discovered the body and his auto a few kilometers away from his home.

CM Mehbooba Mufti condemned the killing of the soldier and tweeted: "Strongly condemn the brutal killing of Irfan Ahmed, a courageous Territorial Army soldier at Shopian".

Earlier in the month, the district president of BJP youth wing was killed by terrorists in Shopian. "Such heinous acts will not weaken our resolve to establish peace...", she wrote on Twitter. He had come home on leave. "My unqualified condemnation & heartfelt condolences to his family", he tweeted. In May, Lt Ummer Fayaz was killed in the same district.

A BSF soldier, Mohammad Ramzan Parray, was shot dead by terrorists when he resisted an attempt to kidnap him.
