'The Partridge Family' star and singer David Cassidy hospitalized”

Variety reports that Cassidy has organ failure, but his representative did not confirm the reason for 1970s teen idol's hospitalisation.

The 67-year-old said earlier this year that he was struggling with memory loss.

The "Partridge Family" star was admitted to a Florida hospital three days ago and is suffering from multiple organ failure.

A rep for the actor said he was "currently conscious and surrounded by family", but was previously induced in a coma.

The publication claims he "needs a liver transplant soon or he could die".

David's family has been arriving at the hospital to comfort him.

Cassidy is best known for his role as Keith Partridge in the '70s TV series and for his career as a pop singer.

Speaking to People, David revealed how the condition was hereditary, saying: 'I was in denial, but a part of me always knew this was coming.

The singer toured the world singing his hit songs, such as "I Think I Love You", filling concert halls with screaming teenage girls.
