Awful news out of Houston practice today as Houston Texans rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson has suffered a torn ACL and MCL according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Watson, who led Clemson to the college national championship last season, was an immediate sensation as the 12th overall pick of the 2017 draft.

The Houston Texans lost Deshaun Watson to a torn ACL injury on Thursday, and they're now expected to sign Matt McGloin as a backup.

The Injury apparently came in practice on Thursday and was suffered without contact to the rookie.

To this point in his debut campaign, Watson has thrown for 1,699 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

The NFL named Watson the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month and AFC Offensive Player of the Month.

The season started with Tom Savage at quarterback in Houston, but it Watson took over the job after only two quarters of football.
