Saints beat Dolphins at Wembley amid more anthem protests

Saints beat Dolphins at Wembley amid more anthem protests”

Saints kicker Wil Lutz earlier missed a 41-yard attempt. But it was as ugly as these wins come. Against three of the weaker defenses in the National Football League, the Dolphins have scored 25 points, an average of 8.3 pper game.

The back-to-back wins boosted the Saints to a 2-2 record, a major accomplishment after the team stumbled to two losses to start the season. "It doesn't have to be aesthetically pleasing to be effective", he said.

"This was all that mattered for the trip, this game on Sunday", Ajayi said.

New Orleans Saints players, including defensive end Cameron Jordan, explained how they chose to as a team to approach the national anthem prior to their Week 3 game against the Panthers.

But three Dolphins players defied Trump and knelt during the anthem before the match at 2.30pm.

Last week, the Jacksonville Jaguars embarrassed the Baltimore Ravens in London, making it an nearly unwatchable game. In three games we haven't scored enough points.

The Dolphins say they have a lot of work to do to fix what ails the offense. Ken Crawley read Cutler on a fade route in the end zone, picking off the pass, wrecking the 'Fins drive.

That drive was about as good as it got for the Dolphins, who failed to get anything going for the rest of the game. Only rushing for 30 yards, the entire gem of the game was perhaps QB Jay Cutler. Given the tough week of public relations they've endured by some for this past week (and a larger trend of decreased ratings) it would certainly make sense.

The Saints did most of the damage through the air. The Saints' offense seemed sluggish and out of sync for most of the first half on a cool overcast day in London, with some slipping on the unfamiliar grass surface.

Along with Kamara, Drew Brees' other favorite target was Michael Thomas, who caught eight of his 11 targets for 89 yards and the opening touchdown at the start of the third quarter.

Saints right tackle Zach Strief left the game after sustaining a knee injury on the first play of the fourth quarter when a Dolphins defender fell on his legs.

Head coach Adam Gase said most of his players managed to get some sleep on the flight over, and should be fine for the game as long as they eat right and stay hydrated during the weekend. As he pointed out, they were 1-4 last season before reaching the play-offs.
