The world's biggest sports gaming franchise comes to Nintendo Switch

The world's biggest sports gaming franchise comes to Nintendo Switch”

Initial reports reveal that Federation Internationale de Football Association 18's Switch version lacks support for multiplayer invites. In this edition's version of "The Journey", Alex Hunter returns to the game, visiting L.A. on his off-season tour, and finding the Galaxy among the teams vying to sign him.

It kind of makes up for not being able to play against friends online, which is a freakish omission that EA Sports really needs to fix.

Check it out live here, via YouTube, at 8 pm PT / 11 pm ET. The biggest step in gameplay innovation in franchise history, Federation Internationale de Football Association 18 introduces Real Player Motion Technology*, an all-new animation system which unlocks a new level of responsiveness, and player personality - now Cristiano Ronaldo and other top players feel and move exactly like they do on the real pitch. The game was initially released on the PS4, Xbox One and PC and it has been finally released for the Nintendo Switch.

There are also other updates to classic features like FIFA Ultimate Team, allowing players to build their very own squad from thousands of players.

And it's all thanks to those detachable Joy-cons, which means you can play it on the go and against friends in local multiplayer.

As far as experiments go, The Journey was a very successful one as shown by the fact that EA have made a decision to serve up a second instalment to the series with Alex Hunter returning alongside some familiar faces such as his sleazy agent, his doting mother as well as a couple of new characters.

In its launch spot for soccer videogame "FIFA 18", EA Sports takes a new "skill move" created for Ronaldo in the game and spins it into a worldwide cultural phenomenon.

And FIFA 18, in particular, lends itself to the portable nature of the Nintendo Switch. However, it plays well as a mobile version of the game, and for some, it may be their only option.

On the plus side, FIFA Ultimate Team is present and as moreish as ever, even without some of the Xbox One and PS4 refinements.

A few things have been changed in the major modes too.
