United States boy hammered to death by mother's ex while protecting younger sister

United States boy hammered to death by mother's ex while protecting younger sister”

On Sep 1, Dante Daniels had been trying to protect his younger sister, Danae, 7, from Deandre Chaney Jr, 23, who was "engaged in the crime of committing a lewd act" on Danae, the report said, citing a police criminal report. He would never make it there again. "This guy beat my grandson with a hammer, down to his spine".

An eight-year-old California boy was allegedly beaten to death with a hammer by his mother's ex-boyfriend while trying to protect his seven-year-old sister from molestation, reports said Sunday.

Six days later, Daniels died.

"Trying to save his sister from this child molester, and that's why he was beat the worst", Dante's grandmother, Monique Brown, told KTXL-TV this week.

The complaint alleges Chaney Jr. also used lighter fluid. "He was a lot sensitive".

And in his final moments awake, Brown says the 8-year-old was a hero - showing incredible courage in the face of his accused killer. He didn't play with kids who were rough.

Investigators say Chaney, who has a lengthy rap sheet including rape, robbery and assault charges, committed "lewd acts" on the girl on September 1 before beating her, her brother and the children's mother, 28-year-old Elizabeth Salone, with a hammer. He then turned the knife towards Danae and the children's mother, Elizabeth Salone, 28.

At some point, Salone asked Chaney Jr to look after the children while she went to drop her brother off for work circa 5.30am.

Danae and Elizabeth both survived, but Brown has said that Elizabeth will be blind in one eye and Danae will need medical help. In the end, evil was not strong enough to steal Dantes heart.

"Dante gave his heart to a 4-year-old In Southern California, so a 4-year-old lives because of [him]", Brown said, according to NBC News affiliate WSFA. "So a 4-year-old lives on because of".
