Intermittent firing continued across the worldwide border in Jammu in which a Border Security Force (BSF) soldier was killed in the wee hours of Friday.

The Indian army says a border guard has been killed in cross-border fire from Pakistan in the disputed Kashmir region.

Parekh said Indian soldiers retaliated for the Pakistani firing.

On Thursday, two Pakistani soldiers were killed in retaliatory action by the BSF, after three Indian jawans were injured in unprovoked firing and shelling by Pakistani troops along the global border (IB) and the LoC in Jammu and Poonch districts of J&K on Wednesday.

Parekh called it a violation of the 2003 ceasefire accord between the nuclear rivals, both of who claim Kashmir in its entirety. One other civilian was also injured.
