Instant Recap, Reaction, Highlights & More From Michigan's 36-14 Win Over Cincinnati”

Freshman Quinn Nordin was named the Big Ten Co-Special Teams Player of the Week after kicking four field goals, including a 55-yarder, against Florida.

Speight's line of 17 for 29 (58.6 percent) for 221 yards and two scores looks fine on paper, but he struggled to get Michigan's offense moving for most of the first half and long into the second.

On their first possession after halftime, junior quarterback Hayden Moore connected with wide receiver Kahlil Lewis from 10 yards out, narrowing the score to 17-14.

Following a 24-yard field goal by freshman kicker Quinn Nordin that gave MI a 27-14 lead with 9:02 left, a bad snap on a Cincinnati punt was batted out of the end zone for a safety to put MI ahead 29-14 with 6:53 remaining.

MI didn't stretch its lead to more than 14 points until the fourth quarter, and there were a few anxious moments in between. MI couldn't convert a third-and-2 inside the 5-yard line, and that led to another field goal. The drive was extended when MI converted on fourth-and-eight on a 20-yard pass from Speight to Kekoa Crawford putting the Wolverines at the Bearcats' 12. Defensively, Michigan football yields 17.0 points and 192.0 total yards per game, 181.0 in passing and 11.0 in rushing.

With just less than seven minutes, MI added a safety when the punt snap sailed into the end zone, and was batted out for a 33-yard loss.

Rudolph broke Brandon Weeden's mark of 9,260 yards it late in the second quarter, and finished the night with 9,352.

A turnover gave the Bearcats their first scoring opportunity, and they took advantage.

· It's the first time MI has turned the ball over four times or more in the first two games of the season since 2015, when MI lost the ball a combined five times against Utah and Oregon State. The Wolverines fumbled the punt, giving UC the ball at the MI 38-yard line.

In the first quarter, Moore overthrew the ball, which was intercepted by MI safety Tyree Kinnel.

Kekoa Crawford and Grant Perry each caught a touchdown pass, and Zack Gentry added 36 yards on two receptions, but that was the extent of the passing attack.

MI fumbled three times Saturday, losing two.
