Apple expected to unveil next iPhones at September 12 showcase

Apple expected to unveil next iPhones at September 12 showcase”

Apple has finally sent out media invites for the event, where it will unveil its next generation of iPhone.

The event will be held inside the 1,000-seat Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park, the tech company's new "spaceship" campus.

Early this week, reports began to surface that Apple would be holding it's annual press conference on September 12.

The event is scheduled to start at 10am Pacific Time, or 1pm Eastern, and chances are that Apple will actually launch its new devices in retail stores on Friday, September 22nd. The invite is just a colorful Apple logo and a call to "Meet at our place". Rumors indicate the company will introduce three new devices at the event: the iPhone 7S, iPhone 7S Plus and the so-called iPhone 8, which will be the 10th anniversary edition. But we'll wait and see on that one... In addition, it could also bring in wireless charging capabilities. The front-facing camera may have facial recognition software that unlocks the handset at the sight of your face, along with an infrared sensor that makes this process easier in low-light conditions. As seen in the leaks, the report says the iPhone 8 will feature a longer power button on the side. There is also likelihood of announcements around the Apple TV, iOS 11, tvOS, watchOS, and perhaps a word or two on the company's AR ambitions after the launch of ARKit.

Additionally, the company is rumored to have a new 4K Apple TV in the works, along with Apple Watches that could feature LTE connectivity.

In the meantime, the future of the iPhone looms larger than ever, and it'll only be a couple of weeks before we find out exactly what it looks like-and whether or not we can afford it.
