Yakuza 6: The Song of Life Gets March 2018 Release Date”

Kazuma Kiryu once again leaves prison at the outset of Yakuza 6, just like he did in the original Yakuza, which re-releases later this month in the form of the remastered Yakuza Kiwami.

SEGA has this morning revealed that Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, the final chapter of protagonist Kazuma Kiryu's story, is coming to the West on March 20, 2018 for PS4.

Yakuza 6 employs the new Dragon Engine to present the "ultimate iteration" of the blend of violence, combat, vices and "distractions" for which the series is known. That version of the game will be the normal $59.99 price tag in North America but there will also be a more limited edition to release at launch. This should be a fitting end to the adventure with Kiryu as we know it, but hopefully we see more from the Yakuza series as a whole going forward. Chilling has never been so... extreme.

According to Sega, anyone that pre-orders the game or buys at release will receive a "Launch edition" that includes a hardcover artbook that will feature some of the game's feature art such as tattoo designs. Protect table surfaces with style by placing your glasses on top of official Tojo Clan branded coasters.

For those who have been bummed out about the lack of bonus or special editions of the Yakuza series as of late, especially in its Western push as a download title, you're in luck with Yakuza 6.an "After Hours Premium Edition" retails at $89.99 US/$119.99 CAD and comes with a few extra awesome items. Yakuza 6 originally launched in Japan all the way back in December 2016. SEGA confirmed that it would be released in the West during last year's PlayStation Experience. This was another big influence on my decision to make this game a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
