Tracking tropical waves that could develop this weekend”

Conditions are expected to become more favorable for tropical development as the system moves west over the Atlantic and into Caribbean. And this year it possibly could be hurricane Gert.

A tropical depression in the Atlantic Ocean formed the storm on Sunday, but it did not make landfall.

Hurricane Gert, already the strongest hurricane of the 2017 season so far, continues to strengthen.

Forecasters say the tail end will bring rain for those in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England.

National Hurricane Center officials are watching three other areas over the Atlantic basin.

Hurricane Gert is expected to create a weather split with the United Kingdom basking in warm weather in the south, while parts of the north are battered by strong winds and heavy rain.

Officials are also watching a tropical wave near the Cabo Verde Islands that is producing storms, officials give this a almost zero percent chance of forming into a cyclone in the next 48 hours, according to the NHC.

Rainfall warnings have been issued by Met Éireann for the counties of Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo as a low pressure area passes by Atlantic coasts.

Not one, but three potential storms threaten to usher in the busiest phase of the Atlantic hurricane season later this month, courtesy of warm ocean temperatures. The next name on the list is Harvey. In their 2 p.m. advisory, forecasters said over the next day or so, it's possible this system could also become a cyclone and upped the odds of it forming to 60 percent over the next 48 hours.

The hurricane will see wind speeds 120-180km/h according to the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Warm water and low wind shear could be aiding 92L as it makes its way west at 15 to 20 miles per hour.

NHC forecasters say that environmental conditions are conducive for gradual development of Invest 92L during the next day or so while it moves west-northwestward near 20 miles per hour before conditions become less conducive for development later in the weekend.
