OK fine, we won't kill MS Paint — Microsoft”

While MS Paint will be available for download from the Windows Store, that's not the same as being a core part of Windows. "In addition to the new 3D capabilities, many of the MS Paint features people know and love like photo editing and 2D creation are in Paint 3D - the new app for creativity, available for free with the Windows 10 Creators Update", a Microsoft spokesperson said. "If there's anything we learned, it's that after 32 years, MS Paint has a lot of fans".

When your device becomes eligible for the Creators Update rollout, you'll be prompted to make some important choices on your privacy settings before the Creators Update can install.

Microsoft had previously classified the Paint app as 'deprecated' within the upcoming Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, meaning Microsoft would officially cease development on it, and it could be removed from the OS either with the release of the FCU or in the future. Paint was one of the first graphics editors which became a household feature for Windows users.

A recent blog now clarifies that they won't be killing the app. Indeed, it will be there in the future updates contrary to what was believed.

But I think developers sometimes fail to appreciate the value of comfort and familiarity where products are concerned.

Some other programs in the list also faced the same cut-down, along with the Outlook Express email client, which will be switched with the built-in Mail app, as well as the Reader application, which now will be joined with Microsoft Edge.

MS Paint has been Windows' Companion ever since 1985, when it made its debut on Windows 1.0. So you bang your head on the desk. It will also be featured alongside the Paint 3D app, which will continue getting new features and updates. In an interview with CNN, a Microsoft Spokesperson said the following regarding the decision.

That's how markets are supposed to work.
