Colin Kaepernick to the Baltimore Ravens being resisted by owner

Colin Kaepernick to the Baltimore Ravens being resisted by owner”

The Ravens are disputing an ESPN report that owner Steve Bisciotti is resisting signing free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick despite a preference from general manager Ozzie Newsome and head coach John Harbaugh to do so. And he isn't the only owner doing so.

Many have attributed his unemployment to his decision to kneel for the national anthem ahead of games last season.

Then, according to NFL.com's Mike Silver, Ravens fans made it clear to the team that they didn't want Kaepernick signed, which echoed what Giants co-owner John Mara said of complaints from fans he heard earlier this offseason about the embattled quarterback.

In a statement, Newsome said the team is now going through a process and has not made a decision on whether to sign Kaepernick or not.

Bisciotti recently asked fans to "pray for us" in regards to the team's deliberations over signing Kaepernick.

The Ravens even went as far as to talk to current and former players, including linebacker Ray Lewis, to gauge how Kaepernick would be met in the locker room.

Bisciotti said Sunday the Ravens were still weighing a decision on Kaepernick, whose arrival would be helpful with Ravens starting quarterback Joe Flacco sidelined for at least a week of training camp with a back injury. "I think they're all in the same category". Current backup Ryan Mallett has struggled running the first-team offense, reportedly throwing five interceptions during Friday's practice. The battles you fighting brother, people way before us been fighting these for many, many years. He may have had the best of intentions, but Lewis ended up more or less rambling about the topic for two-plus minutes before encouraging Kaepernick to keep his activism to himself and concentrate on football.

I do not want him to get another shot [TO START] here, but yes, he can come here and have some fun.
