Mourinho: Hundred percent De Gea will stay at Man United”

Jose Mourinho has revealed that Real Madrid turned down the chance to sign David De Gea from Manchester United this summer and the goalkeeper is "100 per cent" committed to the Red Devils.

The Spanish worldwide started ahead of Danilo in the Champions League final in Cardiff as Real Madrid beat Juventus 4-1 to lift their 12th European Cup.

"I am going to play Tim Fosu-Mensah, Axel, Darmian, Mitchell, I am going to play other players and give rest to some players".

Speaking in Santa Clara California ahead United's next pre-season friendly game against Real, Mourinho said: "I can guarantee that he's not going this season, and it is my feeling it will be very hard for him to go".

And Herrera, speaking earlier this week, made it clear that United could not cope without the 26-year-old next year.

"There was a lot of talk and in the end I am here - and I am very happy to be here", he said.

"There has been strong interest from other clubs, but it has always been my ambition to play for Pep Guardiola", Danilo told his new club's official website.

Michael Owen thinks Manchester United should make holding onto David de Gea their main priority this summer.

'And my feeling is it will be very hard for him to go'.

"You have contacts, you have feelings, you understand things". He is in a very good situation. I never felt a desire from him to leave.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane said Saturday that Brazilian right-back Danilo is no longer with the Champions League trophy-holders, with Manchester City apparently set to benefit from his Bernabeu departure.

"He was never on my list", Mourinho said of the Welsh attacker.
