India should approach US, China to mediate J&K issue: Farooq Abdullah

India should approach US, China to mediate J&K issue: Farooq Abdullah”

The Congress leader had earlier in the day said Kashmir is "burning" due to the government's policies.

Responding to National Conference (NC) president and Member of Parliament Farooq Abdullah's statement that India should take help from United States and China to resolve the Kashmir issue, Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti said today that U.S. and China should mind their own business. They (Pakistan) have atom bomb, so have you.

J&K Chief Minister said that if America intervenes in Kashmir, its situation would turn out like Syria and Afghanistan. "Use your friends... Use them for dialogue to resolve the issue", he told reporters outside Parliament. Abdullah yesterday said India should take the help of "friends" to resolve the issue.

China on July 13 said it was willing to play a "constructive role" in improving relations between India and Pakistan, but the Ministry of External Affairs today rejected any external help.

"I condemn this. I will ask him to apologise for such comments", he added.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NDA's policies have burnt Kashmir.

In an interaction with a visiting Press Council of India (PCI) team here, Mufti alleged, "A section of the country's media has been indulging in debates, discussions and reportage about the state and its people, most of which is far from reality". Besides, she said, China has its own problem in Tibet.

"If you and I have some tensions and we are unable to sort out the differences, then we use friends to sort out the problem", he said. The border is still there... Terming India and Pakistan important South Asian countries, Beijing had noted that the "situation in Kashmir has attracted the attention of the worldwide community". How much more losses you want...

She said India and Pakistan must find a resolution themselves and not depend on any other country. India accuses Pakistan of arming and training militants fighting since 1989 to secede Kashmir.
