Facebook to Test Display Ads in its Messenger App”

"People already spend time on Messenger interacting and conducting commerce with businesses and brands they love", Facebook says, "and now with Messenger ads, they have an opportunity to discover experiences directly on their home tab". Facebook Messenger ads could be rolled out to all of the service's 1.2 billion users sooner rather than later.

"We'll start slow", Facebook's head of product for Messenger, Stan Chudnovsky, said at a conference in San Francisco this week.

Facebook certainly loves the enormous amount of money it earns through advertisements and it is never satisfied. People will see Messenger ads in the Home tab of their Messenger ads.

"Advertisers will be able to add Messenger to campaigns using the Traffic and Conversion objectives and leverage existing targeting options", Facebook stated. Facebook's likely to ease the ads in gradually, slowly placing them in more areas of the interface as users become accustomed to them. So, users have to suffer these ads as changing the platform after using it for years would certainly cause more distress. As with every other ad platform available online, it will yet again gather data from user perspective to know what they like and don't like.

Last April, the company began testing Sponsored Messages, which will allow a company bot or representative to reach out to a user who has contacted the company in the past.

Although the home screen ads are supposed to be dynamic, some are just simply too big and takes up nearly two-thirds of the screen. Most of the advertisements you see will be interested between conversations on Messenger's home page.

Although Facebook #ads had been trialed in Thailand and Australia, it seems like #Facebook is still issuing ads on its #Messenger all over the world. The businesses will also have the option to send paid messages to users.
