Trump omits demand that Mexico fund wall in Pena Nieto meeting

Trump omits demand that Mexico fund wall in Pena Nieto meeting”

President Enrique Pena Nieto and his USA counterpart, Donald Trump, held their first official meeting Friday they said allowed them to strengthen cooperation and discuss renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), APA reports quoting Anadolu Agency. The leaders also discussed regional challenges, including drug trafficking, illegal migration, and the crisis in Venezuela.

Now, the question becomes: "Does Trump really have a plan to squeeze the Pesos out of Mexico, or is this just bluster created to put pressure on the Mexican government in other negotiations?"

Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Luis Videgaray said "The issue of the wall was not discussed, was not part of the conversation".

Mexico will erect a three inch phallic monument in honor of Trump before they pay for the damn wall.

Before that, both presidents delivered statements with Trump hailing the "successful day" so far.

Trump, who met with Pena Nieto during the campaign a year ago, insists that even if US taxpayers have to cover the costs upfront, Mexico will eventually be forced to reimburse the U.S.in some way.

"Trump broke the deal they had of not talking about the wall in public", professor Carlos Bravo Regidor of the Center for Teaching and Research in Economics in Mexico City told The Guardian. President Trump emphasized the strong bilateral relationship that the United States enjoys with Mexico and noted the importance of renegotiating NAFTA to help workers in both countries.

"And this way, Mexico will have to pay much less money".

Pena Nieto canceled a meeting with Trump that was scheduled for January 31, amid the controversy regarding the construction and the payment of the wall.

Aside from the border wall, Trump said the USA and Mexico have made "very good progress" on renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement. "He didn't. Trump is a bully, but Pena Nieto is a coward".

Mexican officials have repeatedly refused to pay for a wall they have no interest in building.
