Andromeda Will Not Get Single-Player DLC

Andromeda Will Not Get Single-Player DLC”

BioWare and EA have denied the claims of a company saying Mass Effect: Andromeda DLC it has been working on was cancelled.

Yesterday, a BioWare debunked a rumor stating that Mass Effect: Andromeda's single-player DLC had been canceled and today new sources are supporting that rumor.

The official word from EA is that they have nothing to say at this time about Andromeda DLC, but it seems pretty clear that the chances are between "slim" and 'none.' A major bummer for fans of the sci-fi RPG series. This normally would have been cause for a sigh of relief since BioWare has a good track record with Mass Effect expansions and many were anticipating one in Andromeda, however the situation isn't so simple. It's also been said that the series has been put on hold for now too...

The post claimed that BioWare tapped the studio to create three DLCs for Mass Effect: Andromeda, but due to several issues such as heavy critique against the game and staff reductions in Montreal, all outsourced work will instead focus on the developer's next major game, Anthem.

"There are few people left at BioWare Montreal who could even work on it", Schreier explains.

Sinclair Networks, the company which provides network solutions for a range of different developers, took to facebook and posted about the cancellation of Andromeda story DLC. However, producer Fernando Melo on Twitter said that, "While we can't talk about future yet, I can def say we build our own DLC/patches for our games and don't hire fake companies to do so". It's unfortunate for sure, as expanded story content in the past has been something fans have looked forward to, especially in the case of Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3.
