Steve Scalise is out of intensive care following shooting”

Rep. Steve Scalise is no longer in the intensive care unit of a Washington, D.C., hospital.

Scalise, 51, has represented Louisiana's 1st Congressional District since 2008.

Scalise was in critical condition when he was taken to the hospital and has undergone several surgeries.

"The American Hospital Association says a person is in fair condition when the vital signs are stable and within normal limits; the patient is conscious, but may be uncomfortable; and indicators are favorable".

Scalise has been hospitalized at MedStar Washington Hospital Center since the shooting at a GOP baseball team practice that left four others wounded June 14 in Alexandria, Va. They revealed that they found a note on the gunman, James Hodgkinson with members of Congress's names on it. When he arrived at MedStar Washington Hospital Center last Wednesday, the No. 3 House Republican "was as critical as can be", the hospital's director of trauma said.

Rep. Steve Scalise has been released from the ICU, according to NBC News.

Matt Mika, a lobbyist for Tyson Foods, is expected to make a full recovery after being shot in the chest, his family said in a statement Saturday.

Capitol Police Officer David Bailey, who was not shot, also received an unspecified injury in the attack, and threw out the first pitch at the congressional men's game a day later. "He will certainly be in the hospital for a considerable period of time, presumably weeks".
