Pakistan should bat first against India, advises Imran Khan

The top four countries in each five-team group will contest the quarter finals, with the four semi-finalists advancing to the HWL Final in Bhubaneswar in India.

When the short version of this game was first introduced in England in 1975, West Indies dominated it by winning the first two tournaments with the help of their legendary players like Clive Lloyd, Vivian Richards, Wesley Hall, Charlie Griffith and Lance Gibbs.

India launched their title defence with a 124-run rout of Pakistan at Edgbaston on June 4. India has not played any bilateral cricket with Pakistan since 2007, although in the winter of 2012-13, Pakistan made a short goodwill tour to India that included three One Day Internationals and two Twenty20 Internationals. There is no reason for you (Sarfraz) to be so happy. "They have been brought to the final due to external factors and not on the basis of their performances", Sohail said.

Title-holders India will be firm favourites against a Pakistan side who were the lowest ranked of all the teams taking part in a tournament featuring the world's top-eight one-day worldwide sides. "They can come up with a good game and hence it is important for us to stick to the roles assigned by our coach and execute them as planned", he said.

"And since this is the first time India and Pakistan will be meeting in the final of a cricket tournament in around 10 years, the bets are high".

"The boys now need to be level-headed and focus on playing good cricket", the former Pakistan captain added. But the team management boosted us really well.

Addressing the pre-match press conference, Kohli said he had never tried his hand at hockey but is confident that the Indian team will come out with flying colours. "Don't wish to get into the details on who won them the games", Sohail said during a programme on a Pakistani channel.

And he insisted a Pakistan victory would be no great surprise.
