Nashville Predators vs. Anaheim Ducks - 5/22/17 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

In the franchise's first public comments about losing Johansen, Peter Laviolette declined to give any details about the top-line center's apparently serious injury when the coach spoke before Game 5 against the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night.

Nashville pushed the Ducks to the brink of elimination with a 3-1 victory at Anaheim on Saturday to take a 3-2 series lead.

That is sort of the scenario the Anaheim Ducks face as they arrived in Nashville for Game 6 of the Western Conference final.

While Nashville Predators centre Ryan Johansen is out of the playoffs after undergoing emergency surgery on his left thigh on Friday, he was not the only player who missed Game 5 of the Western Conference final. Gibson was taken out of the game for unknown reasons. Getzlaf, the Ducks' leading scorer in the post-season, expressed a measure of remorse after the Ducks' 3-1 loss to the Nashville Predators.

The league didn't specify what Getzlaf said and to whom.

Jonathan Bernier took over for Gibson and stopped 16 shots in his first appearance in almost two weeks for the Ducks, calling it a "weird situation". "They came out and worked harder than us in the second and third period, and that made the difference in the hockey game". In the first two series we use a lot of guys up front.

Johansen led the Predators with 13 points in 14 playoff games while centering their risky top line alongside Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson.

Johansen wasn't the only one missing from the Predators' lineup for Game 5 either, as captain Mike Fisher was inactive for the game with an undisclosed injury.

"Right when we walked off, yeah, you could hear people", said Predators defenceman Roman Josi.

Moments before scoring the tie-breaking goal, Aberg took a tumble in the Ducks' zone where his head impacted the ice.

It was Wilson's second playoff goal this season and first since Nashville's first game against the St. Louis Blues on April 26.

The Ducks are 58-28 in their last 86 Monday games, 27-13 in their last 40 games playing on 1 days rest and 6-2 in their last 8 road games. "So both players are not available to us". "We're capable of winning tomorrow". The Ducks lost high-scoring winger Rickard Rakell just before the start of the game with a lower-body injury and then Gibson after the first 20 minutes with a lower-body injury. He went 21-7-4 in the regular season and has appeared in three games this postseason.

Eaves skated earlier in the day, which is promising for the Ducks. I don't think you can sit back and just hope that you make it to another game.
