Home win streak is NHL's longest in two decades

There haven't been many times during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs when things have looked bleak for the Nashville Predators at home, but forward Filip Forsberg has been there to help save the day when they have.

Nashville battled back to win Tuesday, with defenseman Roman Josi scoring the game-winning goal with 2:43 left in the third period on a power play.

Earlier, the Ducks opened the scoring on their first power play to take a 1-0 lead through Corey Perry with 4:25 left in the second period. "He's a fearless player for his size (6-foot, 180 pounds)".

Various Ducks have been spotted walking around the locker room lately wearing T-shirts that, on the back, read "Bodies, Bodies, Bodies". But try explaining that to a sold-out crowd, who chanted, “Refs, you suck!” and littered the ice with bright yellow rally towels after two goals were disallowed less than 10 seconds apart.

Pekka Rinne has been the best and most consistent goaltender in the 2017 National Hockey League postseason.

Kase's score Sunday was an example of the benefits of jamming the traffic in front of Rinne. In that game, Arvidsson recorded a goal and an assist.

The puck then deflected off someone or something and slipped free to Rinne's left, where Kase picked it up and slid it - just barely - into the goal. “But we just kept playing.”.

Before the period ended, Nick Ritchie continued his resurgence in the playoffs with the wicked wrister everyone knows he has by sending one off the mask and in to give the Ducks the lead.

And so the Ducks survived another listless start. Ryan assisted on Jean-Gabriel Pageau's first-period goal, Craig Anderson made 27 saves and the Senators turned away five Pittsburgh power plays.

The Ducks see the problem as largely mental, and they intend to address it in the hours before the series resumes.

- Interesting analysis of Pekka Rinne's game last night... the Ducks were testing his blocker constantly. The Predators had killed off 13 consecutive power plays and four straight against the Ducks before allowing D Sami Vatanen's first-period goal. "From the flip side, the positive is we lost in overtime, so I think we were able to weather the storm in terms of how (Nashville) came out".

Filip Forsberg and Austin Watson scored in regulation for the Predators, who improved to 9-2 in this National Hockey League postseason.

The sequence was defeating and deflating, all of Honda Center joining the home team in going limp. A couple of minutes later, Anaheim's Ritchie took a needless interference penalty for a late hit and Nashville made it 2-0 when Johansen found James Neal for one of the easiest goals he has probably ever scored.

We are right in the middle of the Conference Finals in the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs and in this week's column, I'll be taking a look at how each series has played out to this point and what we can use moving forward to cash some playoff tickets on the ice.

While Young may be busy on the road for the They Don't Know Tour with Jason Aldean as well as promoting his brand new single, "Losing Sleep", but he still squeezes in enough time to bring his "fang fingers" out on display to watch the boys in gold and navy move on to the next playoff round. But another loss Sunday would have tested this team on all sort of levels, both mental and physical.

Game 4 of the best-of-seven series is Thursday night in Nashville.
