Arsene Wenger's future at Arsenal will be decided after FA Cup final

Arsene Wenger's future at Arsenal will be decided after FA Cup final”

ARSENE WENGER'S future will be decided at a board meeting after the FA Cup final against Chelsea. Their likelihood of earning a top-four finish for the 21st consecutive year all depends on the outcome of games featuring Liverpool and Man City, as well as their own encounter with Everton.

Those supporters will still be unaware of Wenger's future but he does not believe that will matter ahead of what is a big day for the club, as they will discover whether they are playing Champions League football next year.

"Of the season? Yes".

"I think we had 36 shots at goal, the highest ever in the Premier League, and the keeper saved 11 of them, so he has done extremely well".

Everton present an uninterested opponent with less than nothing to play for so a dredging win is probably on the cards given Arsenal's ridiculous ability to pull it together and win games in the final months of the season. "I'm quite surprised. I want to absolutely make sure that we are in there but after that let's get to 75 points and see what happens".

"Maybe one day I might be able to speak about that, but I don't question their determination and focus because every game they turn up with strong performances", Wenger said.

Wenger said: "The board meeting is after the FA Cup Final".

"I will be there".

Arsenal are sweating over the fitness of defender Laurent Koscielny, who missed the midweek victory over Sunderland with a calf problem, while he is also struggling with an ongoing Achilles complaint.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds host already-relegated Middlesbrough and are hot favourites to secure a top four berth, yet Arsenal will be waiting should they slip up.

The last time Arsenal's place in Europe's elite championship rested on the final league match was in 2006, when London-rivals Tottenham Hotspur needed only to match Arsenal's result to snap the sequence.

Should they lose and both Liverpool and Arsenal win handsomely, however, it could be City who are left despondent on Sunday evening.

Arsene Wenger admits he's impressed by Romelu Lukaku's record.

"It is our last home game, our fans will be totally behind us and the fact that it is Arsenal will add to the mix, so I'm really looking forward to it".

"Actually in the original draft, I said he couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag".

Arsenal have undoubtedly been more defensively sound since Arsene Wenger implemented the 3-4-3 system against Middlesbrough.

"And they behave like they want to be at the club". They have pace, power and very good technical abilities, so we have to be on the top of our game.
