Miley Cyrus resurfaces with new song, and it certainly sounds different

Miley Cyrus resurfaces with new song, and it certainly sounds different”

And fans are reacting well to the change, with the Twittesphere showing her major love.

The song, she told Billboard, was written in the back of an Uber, and addresses how she and Hemsworth rekindled their romance.

The former Disney star finally premiered her new single, "Malibu", with an accompanying music video on Thursday. That 2010 track was released around the same time as Miley and Liam's movie The Last Song when the couple were peak relationship goals. With controversial hits like "Wrecking Ball" where Miley was seen sitting naked atop of a wrecking ball, or "23" the rap that Miley created with Mike Will Made It, we are seeing a different approach in her newest songs.

Her upcoming new album will feature more acoustic songs and melodies written by Cyrus, and will include a song for Hillary Clinton, whom she supported in last year's US presidential election, and another anthem dedicated to women in the workplace, Billboard said.

Miley sings, "But here I am, next to you, The sky's more blue in Malibu".

Watch her newest music video below.

Stream the new single on iTunes, Spotify, and Amazon.

Based on "Malibu", I think it's safe to say they've refallen for each other. His only concern is that she's happy and, to judge by a recent photo Ms. Cyrus sent to her father, she's now a very happy young woman.

Who Miley Cyrus is choosing to be at 24, post-rap and post-rock (Dead Petz), is the old Miley Cyrus. The mid-tempo ballad features the lines: "Is it supposed to be this hot all summer long?" Miley captioned the photo.
