Bromwich and Proctor set to be axed from World Cup

"But this year we'll complete more than 2500 drug tests", he said.

"The Aquis Gold Coast Titans have this morning been made aware of an alleged incident involving co-captain Kevin Proctor last night in Canberra whilst representing New Zealand", Proctor's club said in a statement.

"We have values to uphold, they have broken my trust, their team mates trust and the trust of the New Zealand public".

"In our Te Iwi Kiwi house no-one is bigger than the team". In our own domestic game here we do drug education and we try and work with our rugby league community and try to promote making better decisions.

Troubled Kiwi pair Jesse Bromwich and Kevin Proctor are set to be axed from New Zealand's World Cup campaign following their recent cocaine scandal.

"I've only just been notified of this", Annesley said.

Ahead of the announcement, Checkpoint with John Campbell talked to NRL commentator Ray Warren, who said he would have supported including the pair in the World Cup.

"We had an issue out of the 2013 World Cup".

Canberra man Adrian Mark Crowther, 38, appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Saturday after allegedly selling cocaine to the two Kiwis players.

The court heard police observed Crowther on CCTV video preparing a white powder on his phone, before handing it to Bromwich and Proctor, who rolled up bank notes and consumed the substance.

Jesse Bromwich captained the Kiwis in their test against Australia and has had a long standing career in league with the Melbourne Storm.

In a statement via the Storm, Bromwich will step down from the Kiwis and Storm leadership groups, be sidelined for two NRL matches, donate his test fee to charity and undergo counselling.

A Canberra man is facing charges for supplying the players and while Bromwich and Proctor said they were too drunk to remember the incident, they could not deny the allegations.

Cronulla chief executive Lyall Gorman said on Saturday that Keogh was "very distressed and disappointed".
