Swansea survival would be biggest achievement - Clement

Paul Clement says Swansea do not intend to waste their Premier League lifeline after becoming masters of their own destiny.

The Premier League's top scorer was starved of any real service as the Toffees fell to a 1-0 loss away at relegation-threatened Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon and has scored just once away from Goodison Park in 2017.

Four consecutive home wins had put Hull's fate firmly in their own hands but, given the chance to pull five points clear of third-from-bottom Swansea City, they suffered an attack of the jitters that could prove fatal.

"The message was we have an opportunity, don't waste it".

"I need to recognise they had good defending in the set-plays, we were more risky in the second part of the game", the Dutchman told BBC Sport after the game. "We'll have to play like we did against Everton or at Old Trafford if we're going to win the match".

Just look at what happened with Hull, everyone thought it would a home win for them and it did not happen.

Substitute Leroy Fer almost scored moments after coming onto the pitch, he got onto Olsson's cross and hit his shot first-time but Maarten Stekelenburg was on-hand to make a stunning save to keep Everton in the game.

Hull boss Marco Silva had been unbeaten in his previous 41 home league games, a record dating back to his time in charge of Portuguese side Estoril in 2014 and encompassing spells with Sporting Lisbon and Olympiakos.

Swansea will cover the cost of 3,000 away tickets for the club's match at Sunderland next Saturday.

He said: "I don't say anything". "It's been done by the players and led by Leon, and we hope they get up there safely".

Swansea prevailed over Everton to move out of the relegation zone.

Coming off the back of a hard-fought point away to Manchester United last weekend, the Welsh side then picked up maximum points against Everton in front of their home fans. That total throughout 90 minutes is simply not good enough.

"It was only 1-0 and we had some chances but we didn't score", Mirallas told www.evertonfc.com. We need to create chances for [Lukaku], support him, that was better in the second half.

"But also with their win, it shows they can not be underestimated and our players will need to understand now that even though they have been relegated, their players will have a different objective".

But Koeman - who felt more stoppage time than the three minutes allowed should have been played - added: "It was not a disappointing performance. I'm pleased for our people we can finally enjoy a lot of goals here".
