Yasir Shah's stronghold of WI continues on fourth day of second test

Yasir Shah's stronghold of WI continues on fourth day of second test”

Pakistan cricket team captain Misbah-ul-Haq was dismissed for 99, a week after he was left stranded on the same score, as his side took an 81-run first innings lead during the second test against West Indies cricket team in Barbados on Tuesday. West Indies got off to a awful start, having added only one run to their overnight score when Shimron Hetmyer, who had looked convincing on the third evening, was dismissed by Mohammad Amir.

Brathwaite helped steady the home side before he was caught at first slip by Younis off a delivery from Yasir for 43 in the 34th.

Yasir ripped through the West Indies' batting line-up with relative ease, but thanks to batsman Shai Hope, the hosts now have a 183-run lead in hand.

Pakistan lead the three-Test series 1-0 and will fancy their chances of clinching it, though West Indies have scored enough to give their bowlers a chance.

Kraigg Brathwaite has been the anchor of most of West Indies' Test innings in the last two years.

However, just as Hope was approaching his maiden Test hundred, disaster struck as he fell to Yasir for a career-best 90, which came off 209 balls and included eight boundaries and a six.

The deciding third test starts on Wednesday. But he suddenly lost concentration and drove Shah uppishly to cover where Azhar Ali snared a simple catch head-high, an hour-and-a-half after tea at 235 for five.

Pacer Shannon Gabriel led the way for the West Indies with the impressive figures of five for 11 off 11 overs.

Pakistan is nearly on the verge of making a history by thrashing West Indies in a bilateral Test series in the Caribbean, a victory the South Asian Country has been waiting for since 1957-58. Fresh from a century in the first innings, Roston Chase proved an able partner to Hope for the rest of the morning and then deep into the afternoon session, their fourth-wicket stand producing 58 invaluable runs when Chase was deceived by a flighted Shah delivery to be caught-and-bowled for 23.
