Apple to begin manufacturing iPhones in India without tax breaks

Whatever design Apple settles on this year, iPhone fans might have to wait a bit longer than usual to get their hands on the new models: a combination of design and supply challenges now indicates the company might delay its usual September release until later in the fall.

This 2017, Apple is believed to launch the iPhone 8 with an OLED display, which is evidenced by the recently inked deal with Samsung for 70 million panels. In his tweet, Dickson noted, "iPhone 8 looks to be taking a new direction". The world's most valuable tech company is apparently having a pilot study of the dual-lenses for the selfie shooter, an upgrade from the current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, which have single camera sensor. Meanwhile, the release date of the 5.8-inch iPhone 8 will then be moved back several weeks.

In its environmental report, Apple says: "We're moving toward a closed-loop supply chain. One day we'd like to be able to build new products with just recycled materials, including your old products", it said.

The company hopes its latest announcement will jump-start collaboration on how to achieve the earth-mining goal.

The company's research concluded that recycled aluminum should come from Apple products rather than recycling facilities because of the high-grade quality required.

Still, environmental awareness and the focus on renewable energy has been driving the tech sector forward in recent years, not only because it's good for the planet and us humans, but also because in most cases these approaches prove to be financially beneficial to the companies themselves.

Apple doesn't necessarily need to recover as much tin, compared to aluminium, due to an existing market of recycled content.

"We're also challenging ourselves to one day end our reliance on mining altogether", Apple wrote. Its Liam recycling robot can only dismantle 2.4 million units per year - which is "far lower than what Apple sells".

Apple did not disclose the amount of recycled products now used in its products.

And the company has been praised by environmental groups for its commitment to environmentally-friendly procedures. "We're also continuing our quest to make our products and processes even safer by pioneering ways to reduce and remove toxins".
