Georgia police fire 2 officers they say assaulted man

Deon Washington, later issued a statement on the matter, writing, "What happened yesterday was clearly outside of state law and department policy". "We're fortunate that this second video was found and we were able to move swiftly to terminate a supervisor who lied and stepped outside of his training and state law". Ayers said McDonald apologized for his actions and showed remorse.

The shift commander initiated an "immediate investigation into the incident" after the arrest, the police department said.

Ayers told reporters late Thursday that "providing false or misleading information" would not be tolerated by the department. - WSB-TV has obtained a second video that shows a Gwinnett County, Georgia, police officer punching a man he pulled over.

"This officer and his actions do not represent the men and women of this police department", Ayers said.

"He has been a very effective police officer throughout his career", Ayers said. Another officer then comes running around the corner and delivers a forceful stomp to the face of the man before assisting the other officer in the arrest. "This is not what we expect from our officers, and we aren't going to put up with it".

"When I first saw the video, I immediately got the chills", Page told ABC News.

While approaching the vehicle, officers reported the person inside appeared to be placing or grabbing something from under his seat.

An ambulance crew then arrived and treated the handcuffed man, who has been identified as 21-year-old Demetrius Bryan Hollins.

When Bongiovanni told Hollins last August that he was under arrest for not having a driver's license and asked him to step out of the vehicle, Hollins became hysterical, Bongiovanni wrote then.

He was pulled over because his red Acura Integra didn't have a license plate and one of his brake lights was broken. Before Wednesday's incident, he had used force three times - once in 2015, once in 2016 and once this past February - but none of those incidents resulted in any citizen complaints. The officer also said he smelled marijuana. That's when the second officer acted with physical violence.

"I ordered Hollins out of the vehicle". In the August 2016 incident, he allegedly reached for a loaded firearm under his seat.

The victims, ranging in age from 16 to 20, were discovered in a wooded area near a soccer field in Central Islip, Suffolk County Police Commissioner Timothy Sini said.

The handcuffed man in the video appears to be black and the two officers appear to be white.

Bongiovanni said Hollins started yelling "I need to call my mom!" and "You have to let me go".

Bongiovanni eventually said he needed to use a Taser on Hollins and handcuff him. Hollins was handcuffed and on his stomach when he was struck.
