Ford designs baby crib that mimics soothing vehicle ride

Ford designs baby crib that mimics soothing vehicle ride”

'For now, the Max Motor Dreams is a one-off pilot, ˮ Ford says in a news release.

A speaker under the baby plays gentle engine sounds, the base of the crib slowly rocks from side to side-simulating the sensation of a moving car-and the rim of the crib is lined with LED lights that turn on an off, like passing under streetlights.

Ford has developed a cot that could simulate - in the comfort of your own home - the motion, engine noise, and even the street lighting of those night-time drives. It also gently vibrates to provide the sense of movement and motion that's felt during auto rides.

However, this is not the first instance of a smart crib. If you live in the right part of the world, Ford is giving it away as part of a raffle if you test-drive its MAX series cars. For some tots, it's the only thing that will make them go to sleep. When it's Ford you can't expect them to miss the minute details. That's why Ford's latest creation isn't a vehicle at all - it's a small cot for babies called Max Motor Dreams (via CNET) that simulates a drive using sound and motion, along with LED lighting created to mimic yellow-hued streetlights. Ford's latest innovation uses your smartphone to capture your car's movements and sounds and then reproduces them in the crib.

Unfortunately, for those of you who have become interested in the Max Motor Dreams, since it is still a concept and very few have been created it will not be available for purchase unless Ford sees enough of a demand, and it probably won't be cheap.
