Mom, daughter dead after mobile home flips off foundation in severe weather

The main squall line will advance from west to east through the area from the morning to the late afternoon hours. While the tornado risk is low, a brief tornado can't be ruled out.

Another round of severe storms is expected in the southern Plains, Gulf Coast and lower Mississippi Valley this weekend as another bullish jet stream trough lumbers out of the Southwest. The same severe weather threats will be possible. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio, weather.gov, or other media for watches and warnings.

Everyone should have a way to receive weather alerts today in case a warning is issued for your area. Forecasters said they expect "an active severe weather event" Thursday in an area stretching from New Orleans to Cincinnati with the biggest risk for severe storms in northern MS and western Tennessee.

He made his comments during a news conference streaming live on KSLA.com and on the KSLA News 12 mobile apps. Not everyone will see a storm on Sunday afternoon, but those that do can expect it to be strong with high winds and possibly large hail as well as a threat for a tornado. This will be possible in both the morning and afternoon.

Sadly, we are going to have the play the "if" game with storms this go-around. Another potential for severe weather will impact us on Wednesday.

Quarter-size hail is also possible with the tornado-warned storm, according to a bulletin.

Showers will be spotty by the morning commute Friday, but additional showers mixed with some thunder will develop during the day. Some of the thunderstorms could produce localized flooding.

The primary threats are large hail potentially more than 1 inch in diameter and damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour, said Sean Clarke, a meteorologist with the agency's North Little Rock office.
