Bears player calls Hernandez 'my guy' at double-murder trial

The brother of the former New England Patriots player is former football star himself, serving as quarterback and team captain of the University of Connecticut Huskies while in college.

National Football League player and Denote Thompson took the stand and spoke of Hernandez, calling him "my guy".

Prosecutors repeatedly referred Crawford to his grand jury testimony to help fill in blanks about details of Hernandez and Bradley's visit to Florida that week in February 2013.

He also said Hernandez introduced Bradley as "my homie" and that the two appeared close. Hernandez is also charged with witness intimidation and accused of shooting Bradley in the face because he feared Bradley would tell authorities about the slayings. Baez contended during opening statements that Bradley - not Hernandez - shot the men over a drug deal.

Stay on topic - This helps keep the thread focused on the discussion at hand.

During that time, they were asked to read through some-400 text messages between Hernandez and the prosecution's star witness and Hernandez's former best friend, Alexander Bradley.

Another Hernandez associate, Jer'elle Pierre, testified next.

London said he knew Hernandez through hsi work and would see him frequently at clubs around Boston.

Update: Suffolk Superior Court Judge Jeffrey A. Locke said Monday that Jonathan "D.J". He testified about Hernandez's interactions with club-goers, saying, "He didn't like to be approached".

Before you go rushing to conclusions that Aaron Hernandez is going to get out of jail, start working out, and join the Patriots again, let's just put those images to bed, and quick.

Although he was expected to take the stand Monday, Judge Locke announced at the beginning of court that Hernandez's older brother, Jonathan "DJ" Hernandez, will testify Tuesday as a witness for the prosecution. Hernandez is now serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd.
